Isoparaffin is a carrier that can also be found in cosmetics. A carrier does just what it sounds like -- it helps carry a product to a surface by thinning or thickening the formula or simply by ensuring the even distribution of the other ingredients in the formula. We use isoparaffin because, without a carrier, the product would not work with the same consistency across a surface.

Dimethicone is a silicone film former that can also be found in skin lotions, bath soaps, and shampoos. Sometimes referred to as “silicone oil,” dimethicone is the most widely used silicone polymer and is particularly known for its ability to smoothly coat a surface and leave it protected, without being sticky. In products that are applied to the skin, dimethicone can also be used as an emollient that helps soften and smooth the skin. In household products, it creates a protective coating or shine on a surface. In our products to protect leather, it helps increase the gloss. Dimethicone also can be a moisturizer. As a moisturizer, it helps prevent a product or surface, like leather, from drying out by helping it retain moisture. This makes it softer and more pliable.

Sorbitan Oleate is an emulsifier that can also be found in moisturizers, hair-styling products, and soaps. It helps bind ingredients together and keep a formula from separating. In fragranced products, it also helps ensure the even distribution of the fragrance. We add emulsifiers to our products where needed to ensure that our products provide the same performance, use after use.

Nitrogen is a propellant used to dispense a product from a container. Nitrogen is a non-flammable, non-VOC compressed gas. It makes up more than 75% of the air that we breathe.

Glycerin is a moisturizer that can also be found in personal care products, such as skin lotion. It works by drawing water in and forming a barrier on a surface to help retain moisture. We use glycerin in products to prevent the product from drying out and breaking apart.
